Deadline has learned that Resident Evil is headed to Netflix as a global original. Germany’s Constantin Film is currently developing the series and searching for a showrunner. Constantin is the same company that is behind the Resident Evil movies starring Milla Jovovich.
According to Deadline’s sources, “the plan is for the series to expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the exiting mythology. […]” and to “explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.”
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter released in 2016 is the last instalment in the Resident Evil movie franchise there have been talks about a reboot and a TV show.
