Netflix has revaled that John Wick actor Lance Reddick will star in its forthcoming Resident Evil live-action series announced last year, as reported by Variety.
He will be joined by Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nuñez. Netflix did not reveal which characters the others will be playing.
The series will feature a dual timeline. The first timeline will follow Jade and Billie Wesker as they move to New Raccoon City where they “uncover [secrets that] might just be the end of everything”. The second timeline will take place “well over a decade into the future” where thirty-year-old Jade struggles to survivie and come to terms with her sister, her father, and herself in a world taken over by monsters (people infected with the T-virus).
The series will be a co-production between Netflix and Constantin Films, written by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), and directed by Bronwen Hughes (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead).
This live-action series should not be confused with the Netflix CGI anime series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness coming to the streaming service on July 8, 2021.
